Do not be far from me, for trouble is near, and there is no one to help. — Psalm 22:11
I have allowed the gap between me and God to widen, due to exhaustion and illness. But I know he is still with me, and that it is my own doing that I don’t feel close to him right now. He has not forsaken me. He is not punishing me.
My illness slowly worsens, eroding my spirit with pain and exhaustion. It is up to me to turn this around. I may not be able to overcome the disease, even if they diagnose it. But with God’s help I can get out of the spiritual desert and find joy again.
