What Is ChristiSanity?

Once upon a time, my life was out-of-control crazy. I blamed it on a history of abuse — physical, mental, verbal, and sexual — from a variety of sources, starting when I was two years old.

For a long time I hated Christianity, remembering my father’s admonition, “Jesus said to honor your father and mother,” as he beat me senseless. But the day I finally cracked open a Bible in sheer frustration, determined to prove a Christian friend wrong, I found myself faced with blinding truth in the form of the Sermon on the Mount (Matthew 5-7).

I was VERY surprised to see what Jesus had actually said and stood for, as opposed to what I thought. Within minutes I was on my knees. My soul filled with light and love, and the healing started.

A long, difficult struggle ensued — my family was and is atheistic and saw my conversion as further proof of my stupidity — and 30+ years later I am still a very imperfect Christian, but I can say with certainty that if it weren’t for Jesus, I would be dead by my own hand.

The posts contained in this blog tell more of the story, which God compelled me to share in the hope of reaching someone with a similar background. Believe me, no matter how damaged you are, no matter how broken and hopeless you feel, GOD CAN HEAL YOU.
